A cook group's proxy revenue: commission, codes, or your own pool

2026-10-19 · Bazyl

A cook group can earn on proxies three ways: a commission on referrals, a member-only code, or its own wholesale pool. After this post you'll be able to pick the one that fits your group's size, with the arithmetic done on the same 50 members each time.

The mistake is starting with the pool because it has the biggest number on paper. The pool also has the only number that can go negative: gigabytes you bought and didn't sell. Start where the group is, not where the spreadsheet says it could be.

Commission: 10% of the first month, nothing to run

The affiliate program pays 10% of a referred customer's first month. It's computed on the net amount the customer actually paid, after any discount, and it covers the first month by default. There's no inventory, no support load and no money up front. You hand out a link.

Two things count as a referral. A signup through your tracked link from pr.basilproxies.com, or a member who joins our Discord through your personal invite link and then signs up. Payouts go by SEPA bank transfer, minimum €50.

Example: 50 members each buy 10 GB pay as you go. Our public USD price at 10 GB is $3.60 per GB, as of 25 September 2026.

Each member pays $36.00, so the group's referred first-month sales are $1,800. Commission is 10% of that: $180, once. The second month pays nothing on those 50, by default.

Codes: a perk for members, not an income

A member-only code lowers the price your members pay at checkout, and that's all it does. We tie the code to your Discord server and check membership live when they pay; leave the server and the code stops working. The setup and the exact messages are in the gated codes post.

A code pays you nothing. There's no payout attached to it and nothing to stack with the commission. What it buys is the thing your members compare your group against: a price they can't get outside it.

Example: the same 50 members with a code pay less than $36 each, you receive nothing from the code itself, and the group's pitch gets one line stronger.

Your own pool: the spread is yours, so is the work

As a partner you buy wholesale and sell at your own price. Wholesale starts at $0.50 per GB, and the exact band depends on volume; I quote it when you ask. The first order is 100 GB. There's no monthly fee and no branding fee.

The pool is prepaid by bank transfer, or a card link on request, and the gigabytes land in it when the sale is recorded. You allocate to members as they pay and reclaim what they leave: moving balance off a customer puts it back in the pool, and suspending or deleting one reclaims all of it. The portal shows every customer's balance and usage, and every move is a ledger row.

Example, same 50 members, same 10 GB each, 500 GB in total. If your band were the $0.50 entry price, 500 GB cost $250. Sell at $2.50 per GB, under our $3.60, and the group takes $1,250, so $1,000 gross before payment fees and your own time:

  • Wholesale: 500 GB at $0.50 is $250
  • Sales: 500 GB at $2.50 is $1,250
  • Gross: $1,000, and it repeats every month the members buy again

That's the number that makes groups jump. Read the margin math before you do: it covers the three leaks, unsold gigabytes first.

Hosted white-label, the version where the shop and dashboard sit on your own domain with your own Stripe account, exists and is set up by hand for each partner today. Every partner so far runs the API mode.

Picking by size

The arithmetic points at a size, so here's how I'd read it:

  • Up to a few dozen buying members: commission. $180 on 50 members is real money for a link in a pinned message, and there is nothing to lose.
  • The moment members ask for a group price: add a gated code. It costs you nothing.
  • When the group sells 500 GB a month and someone will answer the tickets: the pool. The spread is yours from the first order, and so is the inventory.

The pool isn't a bigger affiliate program. It's a business with stock. If you don't want to hold stock, stay on commission and codes; the money is smaller and nothing is prepaid.

What we don't do

No payout for codes. No commission after the first month by default. No public wholesale price other than the $0.50 entry band; the rest is quoted. And no pool without a first order of 100 GB, paid by bank transfer or a card link before the gigabytes land.

If the pool is your model, the partners page has the two plans side by side and the ticket to start; if it's commission or a code, begin on the cook groups page.

Common questions

How much does the affiliate program pay a cook group?
10% of a referred customer's first month, computed on the net amount they actually paid after any discount. Payouts are by SEPA bank transfer with a €50 minimum, from the dashboard at pr.basilproxies.com.
Does a member-only discount code pay the group anything?
No. A gated code lowers the price your members pay at checkout. It is a perk for them, not an income for you.
What does it cost to run our own pool?
Wholesale from $0.50 per GB, with the exact band quoted on request. The first order is 100 GB, and there is no monthly fee and no branding fee. You pay by bank transfer and the gigabytes land in your pool when the sale is recorded.
Can we see what members use on our own pool?
Yes. The partner portal shows every customer you created, their balance and their usage, and a ledger row for every gigabyte moved in or out.
