Group-buy ISP subnets: how a private pool with a passcode works

2026-10-09 · Bazyl

A private ISP pool is a block of our dedicated IPs that only your group can buy from, behind a passcode typed at checkout. After this post you'll know what the passcode does, what the IPs cost, and how to ask for a pool of your own.

The mistake people make is assuming a private pool is a different product at a different price. It isn't. It's the same ISP proxies at the same per-IP rate, with a fence around the stock so nobody outside the group can order from it.

A private pool is a fenced block of ordinary ISP stock

The pool is a block of IPs set aside for one group. Everything about the IPs is the same as a public ISP order: dedicated, one user per IP, monthly billing, renewals that keep the same addresses. What changes is who can buy them.

Checkout Chefs runs its Australian IPs this way. Their members buy from a block nobody outside the group can buy into, each IP belongs to one member, and a renewal keeps the addresses they already run. The Australian region exists because they asked for it.

The passcode is typed once, for one purchase

The passcode goes into the cookgroup field on the ISP buy form, or into the codes modal of the Discord /buy command. It applies to that one purchase and is never remembered: the next order asks for it again.

A wrong code is refused. The message is "Invalid access code", and the order stops there. It never falls through to general stock, so a typo can't quietly place an order from the general block.

Behind a correct code, the matched pool rides the order through provisioning. The IPs the member receives come from your block and nowhere else. The code itself never leaves the server.

In the bot it's three picks and a modal:

/buy → ISP
  1. Region Europe or Australia
  2. IP count
  3. Confirm card "Pay €X" → Stripe's hosted page
one modal: discount code (optional) + cookgroup access code

A wrong code, on the website or in the bot:
Invalid access code

The IPs: dedicated, our own ASN, around 10 ms in-region

The addresses are dedicated and announced under our own ASN. We don't own the hardware they run on. The ASN is ours.

Latency inside the region is around 10 ms. There are two regions, Europe and Australia, and a pool lives in one of them. One user per IP means the address is yours alone for as long as you renew, and a renewal keeps the same addresses rather than issuing new ones.

Example: a member with 50 Australian IPs renews in month two and has the same 50 addresses they had in month one. Nothing in their bot config changes.

Prices: the region's per-IP rate

Members pay the region's per-IP rate for the month. In US dollars, as of 25 September 2026:

  • Europe: $1.08 per IP per month for 25 to 253 IPs, $0.96 from 254 IPs
  • Australia: $2.30 per IP per month for 25 to 253 IPs, $2.00 from 254 IPs

So 50 Australian IPs are $115.00 a month, and 254 European IPs are $243.84. The lower band starts at 254 IPs in one order. The site shows the same table in USD, EUR, GBP or PLN depending on where you are; the dollar figures are what the pricing API returned on that date.

Orders run from 25 to 508 IPs, monthly

An order is 25 to 508 IPs, billed monthly. The minimum is 25 and the most one order can hold is 508.

Size the block to the orders, not the headcount. One user per IP and a 25-IP minimum mean a block of 100 IPs holds four members at 25 each, or one member at 100; a member who wants 30 needs 30 of them.

What we answer for is the proxy being live and reachable. We don't answer for it working on a particular site. An IP flagged by a member's own use isn't a service failure on our side, and replacing it is a courtesy, not a promise. Put that in your group's rules before the first drop, because it's the question members ask most.

How to get a pool: ask

A pool starts with a ticket in our Discord. Say the region and how many IPs the group expects to run. We set the block aside behind a passcode, and your members buy with it on the ISP form or in /buy.

Regions have shipped because one group asked. Australia was the first. If the region you need isn't Europe or Australia, that's a conversation first, and nothing is priced until we've had it.

The ISP page covers the product itself and the pricing page has the per-IP table in your own currency; the cook groups page shows what the group's members generate from a pool like this.

Common questions

What is a group-buy ISP subnet?
A private block of our dedicated ISP IPs that only people with the group's passcode can buy from. The passcode is typed at checkout for that one purchase; the IPs come from that block, one user per IP, and renewals keep the same addresses.
What happens if someone types the wrong passcode?
The order is refused with Invalid access code. It never falls through to general stock, so nobody outside the group buys into the block by accident or on purpose.
What do the IPs in a private pool cost?
The same per-IP rate as any ISP order in that region. As of 25 September 2026, Europe is $1.08 per IP per month for 25 to 253 IPs and $0.96 from 254; Australia is $2.30 and $2.00.
How does a group get a private pool?
Ask in a ticket in our Discord. Checkout Chefs runs its Australian IPs this way, and the Australian region itself exists because one group asked for it.
